Draw What Grows: The Greek Babanatsa Edition
What happens when drawing, seasonal vegetables, and Greek food traditions meet around the same table?
In this playful hands-on workshop, participants are invited to slow down and spend time with one of the Mediterranean’s most iconic ingredients: the tomato.
Using soft pastels, we begin by sketching seasonal tomatoes and natural forms, focusing on observation, curiosity, and personal expression rather than artistic technique.
From there, the tomatoes move from paper to plate as we collectively prepare and share babanatsa—a simple traditional Greek snack made with rustic bread, ripe tomatoes, olive oil, oregano, and feta. Along the way, we'll explore how ingredients that grow around us connect to culture, memory, community, and everyday rituals.
Part drawing session, part food gathering, and part celebration of Mediterranean food culture, this workshop offers a space to create, taste, and connect.
No drawing experience needed—just curiosity and an appetite for creativity.
Includes: soft pastel sketching, babanatsa preparation and tasting, and all materials.
